JUNIOR FOOTBALL: Brown brace secures Pinchbeck win

CORBY UNITED U/12s 1 PINCHBECK UNITED U/12s 3: PINCHBECK handed league new boys Corby their first defeat in over a year in what proved to be a thrilling pre-season friendly encounter.

With play switching from end to end, Pinchbeck’s new keeper Calem Storey made a terrific debut with a string of fine saves.

At the other end the deadlock was broken on 13 minutes, as Jacko Withers fired in a cross for the ever-reliable Jack Brown to make it 1-0.

It was 2-0 to Pinchbeck ten minutes into the second half when good interplay between Brown and fellow striker Dan Gildon resulted in a tap in for Brown’s second.

Soon after new boy Elliott Ramsden made a great run and crossed in from the right. After a bit of pinball defending Gildon pounced to grab a well-deserved goal, making it 3-0 Pinchbeck.

Corby battled on and snatched a consolation goal.
