Adam Jackson has agreed a deal to rejoin Spalding United.

The left-back had moved to Holbeach United this summer after helping the Tulips to win the United Counties League Premier Division last season.

But Pat Rayment has persuaded Jackson to return to the Sir Halley Stewart Field.

The Spalding manager said: “We had Gareth Jelleyman coming in as player-coach and left-back until he had a change of plan.

“Jamie Thurlbourne has been outstanding but the problem at the moment is getting Julian Kelly onto the pitch.

“He has been out for so long and now he’s getting little injuries.

“So we are short in wide areas and I need to bring bodies in.

“Last season Adam was one of our most consistent performers. There are no thrills and spills – he does what he’s good at with a great attitude.”
