Bourne Town suffered a 6-2 home beating by UCL Division One newboys Peterborough Sports on Tuesday night, while Crowland Town battled back to earn a 2-2 draw with Pinchbeck United in the Peterborough Premier Division.

Gary Gibbs (6, 50 and 90) hit a hat-trick for rampant Sports at the Abbey Lawn, with Dan Drane (12), Gerard Evans (68) and Dan Clements (82) the other away scorers.

Bourne were given a massive helping hand when Sports defender Darren Fogg was dismissed for handball on the goal line just before the half hour, with Alex Brockbank converting the penalty.

But they failed to capitalise on their numerical advantage and only had a second consolation strike from Seb Hood (55).

Down in the Peterborough League, Crowland came from behind to earn a draw with Pinchbeck at Snowden Field. Goals from Ollie Gedney and Jonny Butler had the visitors 2-1 ahead at the break, with Garry Jackson replying for Crowland.

A second-half strike from sub James Ellwood then earned Town a share of the spoils as both sides maintained their unbeaten starts to the season.

In Division One, Sam Cooper’s strike earned Long Sutton Athletic a 1-0 home win over Holbeach United Reserves, while Moulton Harrox Reserves saw off visitors Sutton Bridge United 3-2.
