FOOTBALL: Tulips go second with comeback win

Spalding United moved up to second in the UCL Premier Division with a 3-1 win at Blackstones on Wednesday night.

Hosts Stones led 1-0 at the break after a near-post Danny Barker strike, but TJ Nightingale levelled with a controversial penalty just after half time.

An own goal then put the Tulips 2-1 up, before Tom James fired the clincher for Pat Rayment’s side late on.

Spalding are now 14 points behind leaders Holbeach United with three games in hand.
