Red-hot Spalding United are aiming to make it a perfect 12 wins from as many UCL Premier Division games tonight (Tuesday).

The Tulips welcome Lincolnshire rivals Boston Town to the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field (7.45pm), fresh off the back of Saturday’s 2-1 home success over Yaxley.

Title favourites Spalding go into their tussle with the Poachers as overwhelming favourites. Boston, who are managed by former Tulip Ian Dunn, only have one win to their name from 11 leagye matches and arrive at the Sir Halley in the bottom two.

Spalding are without star winger Lee Beeson, who faces a lengthy lay-off after suffering a suspected ruptured groin in Saturday’s success over the Cuckoos. It’s also Jamie Stevens’ final game before a three-game suspension kicks in.

Spalding boss Pat Rayment added: “Boston Town have been struggling, let’s be honest. They are in freefall, despite having made some big claims at the start of the season.

“I’ve read that they see this game as winnable. For us it’s just another fixture...but one I expect us to win.”

Spalding are hoping to add towering defender Alex Lowery to their ranks after tonight’s game. Lowery plays alongside Tulips star Nathan Stainfield at University level.

Wisbech Town keeper Tom Roberts, who is based in South Holland, is also on Rayment’s radar. A seven-day approach has gone in for him.

New signing Peter Bore isn’t in the squad, but will train with the Tulips on Thursday.
