PINCHBECK United put their Lincs Junior Cup heartache behind them as they kept their title dream alive on Saturday.
Goals from Robbie Relf and Jamie Cartlidge earned Pete Roberts’ side a 2-0 win over Whittlesey United at Knight Street.
They are now eight points behind Peterborough and District League Premier Division leaders Uppingham Town – but have FOUR games in hand.
In the same division, Moulton Harrox battled out a thrilling 3-3 draw at the home of defending champions Rutland Rangers.
Steve Sinfield bagged a brace for Harrox, with Josh Ford also on target.
But Martyn Cundy’s side slip to fifth in the standings and are seven points behind rivals Pinchbeck having played a game more.
Elsewhere, Anthony Graves inspired Deeping Sports to a 4-1 home triumph over Alconbury.
Danny Ireland and Johnny Hands were the other scorers for Sports, who move up to tenth.
One place above them are Crowland Town – but they were handed a 3-0 reverse at the weekend.
Strikes from Christopher Heron, Craig Crofts and Mark Newton allowed Coates Athletic to leapfrog them in the standings.
In Division One, Long Sutton Athletic fired an impressive nine goals as they trounced Warboys Town FC.
Kevin Goude led the charge with a hat-trick, while Matt Cawthorn (2), Matt Radeloff, Paul Newcombe, Ryan Jones and Sean Copeland also got in on the act in a 9-0 London Road spanking.
Leaders Langtoft United stay on track for the title after a four-some Chris Joiner display. Joiner hit four of their five goals in a 5-0 away romp at Thorney, with Michael Woodcock grabbing the other.
Down in Combination Division One, Holbeach Reserves won 4-2 at Moulton Harrox Res to move level on points with them at the top.
