Holbeach United boss Glen Maddison has urged his charges to put last weekend’s languid display behind them.

The Tigers slumped to a 5-3 loss at Kempston Rovers last time out, with the performance reminding Maddison of a 2-0 UCL Premier Division beating at Sleaford Town back in 2013.

That loss triggered a nine-game losing streak, something the boss is keen to prevent this time around – starting with Desborough Town’s visit to Carter’s Park on Saturday (3pm).

Ar Tarn are eight points behind the Tigers with a game in hand, so Maddison is keen to secure victory.

He said: “We need to get the Kempston performance out of our system and can’t afford another losing streak. But our form has been pretty good overall, so I’m not overly worried.

“Desborough is a similar game to our last two against PNS and Kempston. It’s one we can look to win, but they’re an unpredictable side this season.

“Our home form has been pretty decent overall, so I’m hoping that continues on Saturday.”

Wingers Andy Law and Tom Sergeant make welcome returns, while Tommy Treacher should feature despite missing training on Wednesday.
