Holbeach United are bidding to propel themselves further clear of the UCL Premier Division’s drop zone with victory over Kempston Rovers tomorrow (Saturday, 3pm).

The Tigers were go into the Carter’s Park clash on a high, having smashed relegation rivals Sleaford Town 5-0 on Wednesday night.

Victory in the basement battle ended a nine-game losing streak – and boss Glen Maddison never felt like his side were too far away from getting a result during the sticky spell.

He said: “Only Spalding have really given us a hiding this year. That’s the annoying thing, we’ve been in a lot of the games that we’ve lost.

“Kempston are a good attacking side, but we’ll certainly have a chance of winning – if we work for it.”

Lewis Sturman and Tom Sergeant miss the game through suspension, while Curt Yeatman is still unavailable. But Ash Murrell returns – and reserve team duo Glen Wells and Davy Shepherd could be involved after starring against Sleaford.

Meanwhile, Maddison has put in seven-day notices of approach for Boston Town youngster Frazer Bayliss and Sleaford Town midfielder Richard Jackson. He can speak to both this week.
