FOOTBALL: Tidswell header lifts Tigers into third

A brilliant Andrew Tidswell goal moved Holbeach United up to third in the ChromaSport UCL Premier Division table.
His 58th-minute diving header, from a Dan Flack cross which ended a flowing move, was the only goal against Newport Pagnell Town at a rain-lashed Carter’s Park.
The Tigers could have been more comfortable but for a second-half penalty miss by Craig Parker.
Holbeach leapfrogged Spalding United in the table. The Tulips’ match at Cogenhoe United was one of four top-flight matches postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
St Ives Town at home to Sleaford Town was also off, which allowed Quorn to go top of the table with a 2-1 win at Huntingdon Town.
In Division One, Bourne Town will be glad their match beat the poor conditions in the Northampton area. The struggling Wakes had a welcome 2-0 win at Raunds Town.
