Strikers Liam Tunstall, Curt Yeatman and Luke Hollingworth all netted impressive goals as Holbeach United beat Boston United Reserves 4-2 to lift the Gerald Starling Memorial Trophy on Tuesday night.
The hosts needed just six minutes to open the scoring, with the impressive Yeatman skipping inside his man on the left and rifling a fierce low drive past the keeper.
Ex-Tiger Lee Orrey levelled on 20 minutes with a neat near-post finish, but Holbeach were back ahead almost instantly when Tunstall slipped a clever ball through for strike partner Hollingworth to emphatically fire home.
Perhaps the pick of the goals arrived on 35 minutes when Tunstall superbly controlled a hopeful cross before lashing home a 25-yard stunner into the top corner.
Aaron Eyett pulled one back for the Pilgrims after a soft penalty award two minutes later, but Tunstall’s second of the game early in the second period sealed the success for the hosts.
Sub Andy Law expertly fed the former Sleaford Town hitman, who fired home convincingly to take his tally to three goals in two pre-season games since joining Holbeach.
There was one minor negative for the Tigers, with Yeatman forced off with a knee injury early in the second period.
