FOOTBALL: South Holland lads ‘Toast’ Fiesta success

Ivory Toast have become the first-ever team to retain Spalding’s ‘Football Fiesta’ title at the Castle Sports Complex.

Some 20 teams contested the annual tournament, which was played over three pitches last Sunday.

After winning their group and remaining unbeaten throughout the tournament, Ivory Toast won the final 3-1 against The Other Madrid.

Alex Lyon put them 2-0 up with a brace, with Marcin Minczynski pulling one back for Madrid.

But captain Jordan Hayes then finished the game with the third for Ivory Toast, making it back-to-back victories for the South Holland lads.

Meanwhile, Boston side Borussia Teeth went home with the Plate trophy, winning the final 1-0 against FC Naples.

The decisive goal came from Gavin Bell.
