Market Deeping-based whistler Sarah Grundy (21) and Bourne teenager Natalie Hudson (16) have been invited to officiate in a series of matches for the Bob Docherty Cup to be played between six international teams at Repton School in Derby.

Grundy will referee England v Scotland, Northern Ireland v Republic of Ireland and Slovakia v Northern Ireland, while Bourne Grammar School student Hudson will be an assistant referee for the England and Slovakia matches.

Meanwhile, there is more good news for Grundy after she was nominated to be assistant referee for the England v Switzerland under 16s’ game at St George’s Park, Burton-upon-Trent.

The venue is the home of the Football Association’s National Football Centre and educational department.
