Relentless Spalding United edged closer to the UCL Premier Division title after thrashing hosts Kempston Rovers 8-1 on Tuesday night.

Fresh off the back of Saturday’s 7-0 drubbing of S & L Corby, the red-hot Tulips made it 15 goals in four days thanks to strikes from Mark Jones (2), Lee Beeson (2), Jordan Thomas, Dan Cotton, Jamie Thurlbourne and Nathan Stainfield.

It’s now 102 goals in just 28 league games for Spalding, who have dropped just five points all season.

With AFC Rushden and Diamonds and Cogenhoe United drawing 0-0, Pat Rayment’s side are now a whopping 22 points clear with just eight games left to play.

Meanwhile, Deeping Rangers’ trip to rivals Wisbech Town was called off after more rain left the pitch waterlogged.

That’s the THIRD time that the fixture has been postponed this season.
