LONG BUCKBY 2 DEEPING RANGERS 7: Deadly Deeping made it 31 goals in just seven UCL Premier Division games as they smashed Long Bucky to go second in the table.

Alex Beck led the charge with a terrific treble, while there were also goals for Ryan Oliver, Mitch Griffiths, Spencer Tinkler and skipper David Burton-Jones.

With an Outgang Road date against struggling Sleaford Town next up tonight (7.45pm), Tuncay Korkmaz’s men will go top of the tree if they extend their winning run to three games.

But boss Korkmaz doesn’t think his side will be able to challenge for the title this term – citing Spalding United as clear favourites.

The Turkish tactician said: “Our firepower this season is very evident. We have lots of players contributing goals and it’s great to watch.

“Being top scorers in the league is obviously nice, but I’m not reading too much into our position. Even if we can beat Sleaford and go top, I don’t think anyone can challenge for the title while Spalding are in this league.

“They have the best team I’ve ever seen in the UCL.”

It took just five minutes for Rangers to seize control at Station Road, with Beck racing clear down the left to score after latching onto a cracking Kev Gilbert pass.

Deeping doubled their lead on 14 minutes when Josh Moreman – playing his first UCL Premier Division game since rejoining the club from Corby Town – saw a fierce cross palmed out to Beck, who made no mistake.

It was 3-0 at the break when prolific defender Tinkler netted a 28th-minute penalty after wing king Griffiths was fouled in the box.

The in-form Oliver lobbed home number four three minutes into the second period, making it seven for the season for the big striker.

Beck laid on the fifth for Griffiths to smash home 15 minutes from time, before James Allcock and Jean Dakouri netted a brace of consolation goals for Buckby.

Rangers had the last word though, with Beck (82) completing his treble from close range and Burton-Jones (90) heading a Scott Ginty corner into the net.

Deeping will hand a debut to new signing Stacy Cartwright against Sleaford tonight after bringing him in from Wisbech Town.

But Moreman is suspended and Ondre Odain could be on his way out after interest from Desborough Town.

Rangers: Doughty, Flack, Gilbert, Tinkler, Ashton, Burton-Jones, Griffiths, Ginty, Oliver(Odain), Beck, Moreman. Not used: Holt.
