Irked Spalding United boss Pat Rayment wants his side to take out their FA Vase woe on local rivals Peterborough Northern Star tonight.

The Tulips welcome Star to the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field in the UCL Knockout Cup (7.45pm), in what will be their first match since being kicked out of the Vase (see page 63).

Rayment said: “Any chance PNS had of us resting players has gone now.

“My lads are feeling aggreived and that’s bad news for the rest of the league.

“I can’t wait to get back to playing and put the Vase debacle behind us.”

Lewis Webb and Mark Jones are banned, but new signing Jon Fairweather could be involved.
