AFC KEMPSTON ROVERS 0 DEEPING RANGERS 3: Ondre Odain’s double kept on-song Rangers top of the UCL Premier Division table as they extended their winning streak to eight league games.
The recalled striker netted on 26 and 70 minutes at Kempston, after the in-form Ryan Oliver (9) had made an early breakthrough.
It’s now 36 goals in nine games for the league’s leading scorers, who head Spalding United on goal difference.
Satisfied Deeping boss Tuncay Korkmaz said: “It wasn’t our best performance, but given the circumstances I’m pleased.
“We had a lot of players out, but the lads have come away with a clean sheet and three goals, so I have to be happy.
“It was nice to see Ondre get amongst the goals, everyone is chipping in.”
Oliver got the ball rolling inside ten minutes, turning home his eighth of the season after Mitch Griffiths saw a shot palmed into his path.
It was 2-0 when Scott Ginty’s free kick was saved by Dale Hamilton, but Odain made no mistake to bury the rebound.
The clincher came 20 minutes from time – and was similar to Deeping’s other strikes. Once again a Griffiths drive was kept out by Hamilton, but that man Odain was on-hand to turn home the loose ball.
Rangers now turn their attention to tonight’s Lincs FA Senior Trophy clash with Harrowby United at Outgang Road (7.45pm).
