Spalding United progressed in the FA Vase with a 3-2 victory at Oadby Town on Saturday, but Deeping Rangers went out 1-0 at home to Norton United as Holbeach United picked up a 4-2 UCL Cup success at Eynesbury Rovers.

Goals from Dan Cotton, Tom James and Luke Kennedy struck for Pat Rayment’s Tulips, who survived a stirring comeback from the UCL Division One leaders.

Cotton (10) and James (23) had the Tulips 2-0 ahead early on, but the hosts hauled it back to 2-2 before Kennedy’s 67th-minute winner.

It wasn’t such a great day for Deeping though, as an 89th-minute goal sunk them at Outgang Road.

In a nip-and-tuck clash, Matty Heron, Ash Stevens and Harry Deane all rattled the woodwork for Tuncay Korkmaz’s men, before Dan Brown dinked home a last-gasp winner for the visitors.

Holbeach were on League Cup duty at Division One high-fliers Eynesbury Rovers – and they made pretty light work of their hosts despite falling behind early on.

A stunning long-range Rob Hughes strike levelled things up, before Andrew Tidswell (2) and Jonny Allen secured the Tigers’ process.

Down in UCL Division One, Bourne Town were beaten 3-1 at home by Wellingborough Whitworths.

In the Peterborough and District League, Crowland Town edged a cracking Snowden Field derby with Pinchbeck United 4-3 – sending the defending champions to the foot of the table.

Unbeaten Moulton Harrox stay second after a fine 3-0 victory away at Stilton, while Deeping Rangers Reserves picked up an impressive 1-0 win at Peterborough ICA Sports.

More football in Tuesday’s Lincolnshire Free Press.
