Holbeach United boss Glen Maddison has told his players to relish the unique atmosphere that will be provided by Saturday’s visitors AFC Rushden and Diamonds.
Fourth-placed Diamonds are the best-supported team in the UCL Premier Division and a crowd in excess of 500 would be no surprise at the Carter’s Park clash.
It’s the title hopefuls’ first game in a month because of the desperate weather, leaving Maddison hopeful that he’ll catch them cold.
But the Tigers chief is also wary that his young side could be outfoxed against a side that are 16 points ahead of them in the table.
“It’s a good game for the club,” said Maddison. “I know they are looking forward to it and you’d imagine there will be a big crowd.
“It’s certainly one to relish, no other team brings that kind of support.
“I’ve not seen much of them, but it’s clear they have that mix of quality, experience and power that most top UCL sides have.
“You can look at it two ways; we could catch them cold...or they could be chomping at the bit.
“We finished with six players aged 19 or under on the field last Saturday. It’ll be a big ask for my team against such a strong side.”
Robbie Relf, Tom Sergeant and Chris Shipley all miss the clash.
