FOR the second time in three weeks, a floodlight failure at the Abbey Lawn caused the Lincs FA Senior Trophy semi-final between Bourne Town and Holbeach United to be abandoned.

Wednesday night’s derby date was halted after just six minutes this time, with the first attempt at the fixture lasting only 36 minutes before a blackout.

Holbeach are now hopeful of getting the last four clash moved to Carter’s Park – with Bourne boss Darren Munton accepting that his charges will have little choice but to accept the change of venue.

Tigers manager John Chand said: “We’ll be pushing to get the tie moved to our place now. Our fans can’t be expected to travel to Bourne again.”

Munton added: “It was apparently a different problem to the last time but for this to happen twice is embarrassing and we’d be perfectly prepared to go to Holbeach for the tie now – it’s the decent thing to do.”

The eventual winners of the tie will face Barton Town Old Boys in the final at Lincoln City’s Sincil Bank.
