Payback in on Holbeach United’s mind ahead of Saturday’s Carter’s Park clash with Newport Pagnell Town (3pm).

Lowly Pagnell, who have won just five UCL Premier Division games this season, smashed the Tigers 4-1 in the reverse back in October.

Holbeach chief Glen Maddison rates that as one of his side’s worst showings of the campaign – and is after a response this time around.

“That was as bad as we’ve been if I’m honest,” said Maddison. “We need to put that right on Saturday.

“We’ve not been close to our best lately, so it’s important that we get ourselves going again.

“I’m confident that we’ll get the game on, I hear the pitch is drying out nicely.”

Maddison also hopes to have two new faces in his squad for the visit of 16th-placed Pagnell. He’s verbally agreed deals for two midfielders, but is waiting on the paperwork before announcing them officially.

Any new recruits would be a welcome addition to a depleted squad.

The Tigers, tenth in the table, are without skipper Matt Warfield, key defender Lewis Sturman and winger Tom Sergeant o Saturday.
