FOOTBALL: Gosling’s headed hat-trick guides Harrox to final
SKEGNESS TOWN 0 MOULTON HARROX 5: Five-star Moulton booked their place in the Lincs Junior Cup final with a dominant win on Saturday.
Striker Tom Gosling was the hero with a hat-trick of headers, while Billy King and sub Ian Bradbury also got in on the act.
Harrox – who remain course for a Peterborough and District League Premier Division, PFA Cup and Lincs Cup treble – will now face Gainsborough Town in the final.
The decisive moment of the last four clash came in first-half injury time, when home defender Joby Gowshall was sent off for taking down a clean through Joe Townsend.
Up until that moment the scores had been level at 0-0, but Moulton expertly used their numerical advantage after the break.
Gosling broke the deadlock with a headed effort from five yards (48) – and the striker went on to wrap-up a seven-minute treble with two more clinical headers. Substitute Bradbury tapped home Harrox’s fourth just before the hour to all but secure the away sides’ passage, with a late King effort sealing a memorable victory.
Moulton are the second South Holland side to reach the county final in as many years, following in the footsteps of Pinchbeck United. But they’ll be hoping to go one better than thei great rivals and take home the trophy.
Harrox: Harrox: Kenealy, Groves, Cairns, Patterson, Clay, Gedney, King, Panton, Townsend, Gosling, Woods. Subs: Law, Bradbury, Gordon, Steadman, Hudson.
