Former Spalding Grammar School student Jack Hobbs has signed for Championship side Nottingham Forest.
The 24-year-old central defender, from Moulton, has gone to Forest on a loan deal from Hull City, but the move will be made permanent next summer.
Forest will sign the former Moulton Harrox and Spalding Athletic youth player for an undisclosed fee and Hobbs has pre-agreed a two-year contract.
“He has been recognised as one of the brightest defensive prospects outside the Premier League,” Forest boss Billy Davies told the club website.
Hobbs, who played 22 games for Hull last season and helped the club win promotion to the Premier League, began his career at Lincoln and joined Liverpool when he was 17.
Current Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson signed him during his first stint in charge of the Foxes and then also recruited him while at Hull.
Hobbs has made a total of 218 professional appearances since 2004, scoring three goals.
