SPALDING UNITED 5 BOSTON UNITED XI 0: EVERYTHING clicked into place for the Tulips as they put on a clinic against a second-string Pilgrims outfit on Saturday.

Goals from Jammal Shahin (23 & 62), Josh Ford (26), Simon Mowbray (72) and Liam Hook (87) didn’t flatter Spalding at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field in what proved a completely one-sided affair.

Shahin opened the scoring with a delightful dink after racing onto a Hook through ball, before ex-Moulton Harrox man Ford opened his Spalding account with a fine left-footed drive.

That man Shahin made it 3-0 from close range, before the lively Mowbray rifled a cracking effort home to put the game to bed.

There was still time for Hook to grab his first Spalding goal with a deflected effort in the closing stages.

KING’S CLIFFE 0 HOLBEACH UNITED 9: ANDREW Tidswell scored four times as the Tigers romped past Peterborough League opposition.

Tommy Treacher hit a brace, while Nick Brown, Lawrence Lambley and Pete Smith completed the scoring for John Chand’s men – who have now won three pre-season games out of three.

King’s Cliffe stepped in as Holbeach’s opponents at the 11th hour, with Wisbech Town pulling out of their scheduled clash on Thursday.
