HOLBEACH United’s fine form continued with a 2-1 win at Yaxley on Saturday, while Spalding United lost 3-0 at home to fellow strugglers Rainworth Miners Welfare.

Goals from Wes Lewis and Jonny Allen earned John Chand’s Tigers a super success at Leading Drove, making it five UCL Premier Division wins in their last seven games.

Staying in the UCL, a Mark Jones double earned Deeping Rangers a 2-0 triumph at Raunds Town.

Up in Evo-Stik First Division South, relegated Spalding continue to toil. Chris Hewitt (3) and Matt Baxter (25 & 52) earned Rainworth Miners Welfare a routine win at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field.

The defeat is the Tulips 31st in 40 league games this season - a truly dire return.

Elsewhere, rivals Moulton Harrox and Pinchbeck United smashed a combined total of 13 goals in the Peterborough and District Premier Division.

Pinchbeck moved to within three points of leaders Ramsey Town with a 6-2 success over Oundle Town - and they have two games in hand.

Jamie Cartlidge (2), Lee Marshall (2), Ian Dunn and Mark Lovelace fired the goals for Pete Roberts’ in-form charges.

Harrox went one better, smashing Alconbury 7-0. David Kantak led the spree with a hat-trick, while Joe Townsend (2), Joshua Ford and Sam Munton were also among the goals as Moulton moved up to fourth.
