THRAPSTON TOWN 1 BOURNE TOWN 3: An impressive first-half showing earned the Wakes a deserved victory on Saturday.

Johnny Currall was on hand to open the scoring for Bourne on 11 minutes, before Craig Rook added a second two minutes later.

Top scorer Ben Easson effectively ended the game as a contest after 25 minutes with number three for Darren Munton’s side.

Danny Darker pulled one back for the hosts five minutes from time, but Bourne were already home and hosed as they climb up to ninth.

Bourne’s assistant manager Steve Elgar said: “The first half performance was the best we have played all season.”

The UCL Division One duo meet again at the Abbey Lawn tonight (7.45pm).
