SPALDING United were thumped 6-1 at Lincoln United on Tuesday night, while Deeping Rangers lost an entertaining derby with Blackstones 3-1.

Fresh off the back of an encouraging display against Belper Town on Saturday, the Tulips were back to their old tricks as new boss Andy Stanhope saw his side beaten for the third time in a week.

Scott Coupland (pens 3 & 27), Sam Wilkinson (31) and Chris Funnell (38) gave the rampant Whites 4-0 half time lead.

Debutant Jordan Hayes did pull one back for Spalding, but Sam Orritt (72) and late Alistair Holding own goal piled on the misery.

The defeat sees Spalding four points from Evo-Stik League First Division South safety - having played FOUR more games than 20th placed Rainworth MW.

In the UCL Premier Division, the pace of Addie Staffieri proved key as Deeping’s winning run came to an abrupt end at Outgang Road.

Ex-Bourne Town striker Staffieri scored either side of a Liam Harrold leveller to give Stones a 2-1 half-time lead.

Kyle Orange then sealed the Blackstones win with a third goal on the hour.
