Star-studded Spalding United have swooped to add Boston United ace Peter Bore to their already impressive squad.

Tulips chief Pat Rayment has sealed a deal to bring the versatile defender to the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field on dual forms.

Bore (25) lists Grimsby Town among his former clubs and is being backed to make a massive impact in the UCL Premier Division.

“It’s a great coup for the football club,” a delighted Rayment told the Free Press. “He’s quick, has great experience and can play in a number of positions for us.

“The signing will give everyone another lift. People will say we’ve splashed out on another big player, but he comes here within the constraints of our budget.

“He’s obviously too good for this standard of football, but we’re no ordinary team at step five. We’ve got plenty of ex-pros and top talent here and he’ll fit in nicely.”

Bore, who scored a stunning 35-yarder for the Pilgrims against Telford earlier this season, will train with his new team-mates on Thursday.
