Holbeach United were dumped out of the United Counties League Cup by lower league opposition this afternoon and then rocked by the resignation of manager John Chand.

Premier division Holbeach lost 1-0 to division one side Potton United, with Adam Marsh doing the damage halfway through the first half.

Meanwhile goal-shy Spalding failed to get on the scoresheet again but did get a handy 0-0 draw at seventh place Stafford Rangers in the Evostick League first division south. Spalding are now sixth, just outside the play offs.

Back in the United Counties League, Deeping Rangers are up to eighth in the premier division after a 2-0 home win against free-falling Huntingdon Town. Braithwaite and Goldson-Williams were on target.

In division one Bourne Town continued their encouraging season with a 4-2 home win against lowly Burton Park Wanderers, with Placis and Williams among the scorers. Bourne are now 12th.
