Teams from Long Sutton and Bourne Westfield emerged victorious as Agilitas Sports hosted two year six ‘kwik cricket’ tournaments at Spalding Grammar School.
Organised by Rupert Gibson, the events are part of the School Games – which aim to get more pupils into competitive sport and physical activity.
First up were the lads, with Bourne Westfield, Baston and Moulton John Harrox playing a triangular competition and students form Spalding Grammar doing the umpiring and scoring.
Amazingly each team won a game and lost another so the winner had to be decided by looking at total runs scored.
In the end, Westfield ran out winners, with Harrox second and Baston third.
The girls’ event saw five teams from Long Sutton, Sutton St James, St John’s and Mouton John Harrox do battle in a round robin event.
Sutton ran out worthy winners, with St John’s second, Harrox third, Sutton St James B fourth and Sutton St James A fifth.
Westfield and Long Sutton will now go on to represent the area at the Summer Games.
