TWO of Billingborough Cricket Club’s newly-formed junior teams registered their maiden victories last week.
Young guns from the under-11 and under-9 teams broke their respective ducks in style as the club continues to grow in stature.
The U/11s created history as they recorded Billingborough’s first-ever junior triumph.
It was a stylish one two, as they hammered North Luffenham.
The Boro bowlers restricted their opponents to just 26-9 in their 16 overs, with Max Wilkinson, Lewis Chessum, Kyle Higginson and Declan Farrow all claiming two wickets apiece.
In contrast, Billingborough finished on 49-3 off their 16 overs and won by an impressive 23 runs, with Oliver Chessum the star with the bat, scoring 16 off 15 balls.
The man of the match award went to Lewis Chessum.
Not content with that win, the U/11s followed it up with another resounding result.
This time Moulton Harrox were on the receiving end, as Boro scored 87-4 from their allotted overs.
Harrox replied with 46-6 off 16 overs in another fine display, keeping their 100 per cent league record alive.
Meanwhile, Billingborough’s U/9s scored a massive 132 without loss against Stamford to get their first success in the record books.
They then bowled well to restrict a strong Stamford side to just 64-7 to take the spoils by an emphatic 68 runs.
