Cricketing youngsters get a chance at Moulton Harrox

Future Joe Roots and Stuart Broads in South Holland are wanted by Moulton Harrox Cricket Club for its junior academy.

Youngsters aged seven to 11 (school years three to six) are welcome for the club’s under-nine and under-11 squads who will start their winter training for the new season next month.

No experience is needed and training sessions takes place at University Academy Holbeach in Park Road on Thursdays between 6pm and 7pm, with the summer academy taking place on Wednesdays from 6.15pm to 7.30pm between April and August.

Moulton Harrox are fielding under-nine and under-11 teams in the Border Counties Youth Cricket Association league this summer and youngsters are encouraged to join and enjoy England’s national summer sport.

Academy youngsters who excelled last year included Cameron Fox of Moulton, Thomas Hoyle of Sutton St Edmund and William Moxon of Weston Hills.

Meanwhile, Long Sutton Cricket Club are on the hunt for new and enthusiastic players ahead of the new South Lincs and Border League season which starts next month.

The Park Road-based side will be putting out four senior sides this season, with first team and second teams competing in the Premier Division and Division 1 respectively, as well as two Sunday teams playing in the Rutland League.
