Cavaliers (225-7) beat Pinchbeck (91) by 134 runs: Pinchbeck were handed a comprehensive beating by a strong Cavaliers side on Saturday as the hosts ran out convincing winners by a whopping 134 runs.
After electing to bat, the home side gave Pinchbeck a thorough workout in the field and racked up a big total of 225-7.
An early wicket from Harry Waine gave Pinchbeck a boost, but Cavaliers’ batsmen then took over with Hayes (31) and Wilkin (42) building a fine platform.
Despite the efforts of Andrew Beeston (3-46),who reduced the score to 105-5 at one stage, a succession of dropped catches throughout the innings didnt help Pinchbeck’s cause.
Unsurprisingly they were made to pay, with Kennedy (50) and Taylor (55 not out) piling on the agony to guide the hosts comfortably past 200.
Pinchbeck were never in the hunt in reply, as Cavaliers’ accurate bowling attack gave nothing away and put the batsmen to the sword.
Richard Riley’s dogged 42 showed some resistance, but with Hayes (6-18) the chief destroyer Pinchbeck were bowled out for 91.
Pinchbeck visit Freiston L & L this Saturday (1.30pm).
