Great performances this summer were celebrated at the Moulton Harrox Cricket Club junior academy awards ceremony.
Players from their under-9 and under-11 teams were rewarded.
The two teams compete against other clubs from the Spalding and Stamford areas in eight-a-side leagues run by the Border County Youth Cricket Association.
Both finished in mid-table this year after some strong performances and close results but, disappointingly, a season decimated by wet weather.
Under-9 coach Kevin Hoyle opened proceedings by thanking everyone involved in making the team’s season enjoyable and all those who took part in the league fixtures were presented with awards.
In particular, he thanked Gary Maddison of Maddison Water Technology who kindly sponsored the awards.
Under-9 player-of-the-year awards went to Samual Hoyle (batting), Zak Maddison (bowling), Macey Boyton (fielding) and Alfie Grimwood (most improved).
For the under-11 age group, coach Adrian Cunnington thanked Moulton Bulb Company for their support as team sponsor.
He presented trophies to Thomas Hoyle (batting), Oscar Shields (bowling) and Lewis Doughty (fielding).
Adrian said: “The club runs its academy for children as young as six wanting to play cricket.
“The chance to compete against other clubs at an early age in pairs cricket is a great opportunity for youngsters to develop their cricket skills.”
Training for next season’s teams begins in mid-January with indoor sessions being held at University Academy Holbeach.
The club are keen to hear from any children wanting to join the Harrox academy.
