Market Deeping moved up to third in the Lincs ECB Premier League with a four-wicket win over Spalding Town on Saturday – despite a terrific ton from Nabeel Bhayla.

Spalding’s South African hit 104 and Mike Kearns contributed 56 as the visitors reached 231-6 in the sun at Outgang Road.

But Deeping’s surface is a decent batting track – and the hosts chased down their target with four wickets in hand. Chris Jones’ 88 and 50 from Richard Witt were the highlights for the victors, who are 31 points off top spot.

It was a day to forget for Bourne, though. They suffered a heavy ten-wicket loss against Sleaford having been bowled out for just 119 batting first.

Openers Tim McIntosh (65) and Tom Shorthouse (45) knocked off the runs with minimal fuss.
