Long Sutton 1st (162-2) beat Brigstock (161) by 8 wkts

Rutland League Division Three

Brigstock elected to bat but Sutton started brightly with Paul Edgeller (1-44) picking up an early breakthrough.

Jordan Keeble (1-22) dismissed the dangerous Tashwin Lucas for 32, Jake Burton (2-18 from 12 overs) snared two and Jack Keeble (2-32) and a run out helped reduce Brigstock to 161-7.

Batting, Sutton started slowly, but Phil Coote and Chris Booth soon began to dominate the bowling.

Coote (23) eventually fell but there was no let up as Steve Skoulding (28) continued to score quickly.

At the other end, Booth was dispatching anything slightly wide.

With Skoulding dismissed, it was left to Booth (102 not out) to complete a magnificent hundred and also pick up a much-needed victory.
