A HAT-TRICK from Ryan Simpkins was just one of the highlights as Billingborough won their sixth Pattinson Cup crown in seven years.

Played over two days at Sleaford Cricket Club, scores of 176-2 and 141-4 gave the South Lincs and Border League heavyweights a 95-run win over Caythorpe.

On Wednesday evening Geordie Scott hit a classy 81 not out to hand his side a 90 run lead ahead of the Thursday finale.

Batting first in the decider, Dave Newman’s 50 helped set Caythorpe a massive target of 231 for victory.

Having only scored 86-7 in their first knock, that never looked likely.

They finished their innings on 136-7, with man-of-the-match Luke Endley hitting an unbeaten 71 and Simpkins (4-19) bagging a sensational three wickets in three balls.

Billingborough’s Dan Duke picked up the best bowling figures of the whole tournament with 4-16.
