Cricket academy gets under way in Spalding

Spalding Cricket Club Junior Academy starts tonight with Chris Dring and Jimmy Clarke taking over the running and hoping to follow on the success of Sean Hook last year.

Now in its sixth season, the Academy boasts a full range of Level 2 coaches and the club aim to build on last year when the Under 13s won the Borders and District League and the Under 15s were runners up in the county cup , league and league cup.
Any child who wishes to take up cricket can to do so in safe and friendly surroundings with quality coaching provided in a fun environment.
All coaching is undertaken at the Grammar School fields with each group having its own designated day of coaching.
Under 9 and Under 15 coaching is on Thursdays ( 5.30-7pm) with Jim Clarke and Dring respectively.
Under 11 s train on Monday (6-7.30pm with Malc Mumby) and the Under 13s on a Wednesday (6-7.30pm with Rob Manton) .
