Two teams from Bourne Grammar School competed at the ESAA Cross Country Cup national final, with one student achieving third place overall, at a windy course in Beauchamp Middle School, Bedford.
There were strong performances by both teams with the Inter Girls (Year 9-10) being led home by Isabel Spinley to finish 23rd as a team.
Spinley achieved her aim of a top-50 finish followed by Neve Hattee in 83rd and Hana Ray in 97th.
Undoubtedly the run of the day was by Flo Brill who led through much of the Junior Girls race to finish in third place overall.
This was the highest individual finish ever achieved by a Bourne Grammar School student, made even more impressive by the fact she is still in Year 7 and competing alongside the year above.
Elin James crossed the line in 17th place and Anya Gregory finished strongly ahead of team-mates Hattie Knox and Phoebe Payne.
The juniors were hampered by an injury to Maisie Brownlow who had to withdraw from the race.
