THE big freeze wiped out the entire sporting schedule over the weekend, with no fixtures beating the weather.

In football’s United Counties League, Spalding United, Holbeach United, Deeping Rangers and Bourne Town all saw their matches postponed.

The Peterborough and District League was a virtual wipeout, while every match in the Boston and District and Spalding Sunday Leagues also bit the dust.

Rugby was also badly hit, as Spalding RFC, Deepings and Bourne RUFC were left without a game.

It no looks increasingly likely that Wednesday night’s Lincs Senior Trophy semi-final between Bourne Town and Holbeach United will also be called off.
