TEAMS from Moulton John Harrox Primary School and Gedney Drove End were on top of the podium in a primary schools athletics festival last Thursday.

The big event staged at Spalding High School was the final one of 30 competitions and festivals that have been run over the last year by school games organiser Rupert Gibson and teachers released by secondary schools across the area.

More than 4,500 pupils have taken part in these festivals.

Large schools results: 1st Moulton John Harrox B (59 points); 2nd Bourne Abbey (53); 3rd Langtoft A (50); 4th Spalding Parish C of E Day School A (27); 5th Langtoft B (25); 6th Bourne Westfield B (21); 7th Bourne Westfield C (16); 8th Moulton John Harrox A (18); 9th Pinchbeck East (12); 10th Holbeach Primary B (10); 11th Bourne Westfield A (9); 12th Spalding Parish C of E Day School B (3); 13th Holbeach Primary A (1).

Small schools results: 1st Gedney Drove End 110; 2nd Holbeach St Marks 90; 3rd Gedney Hill 69.
