Ashley Sandall was in record-breaking form for Nene Valley Harriers at the North of England Indoor Championships in Sheffield last weekend.
For the second time in as many years, the David Clay-trained middle distance runner struck gold in the 400m event.
He won the under-15 crown two years ago – and added the under-17 title to his collection last Saturday.
And he did it in superb style, taking the honours in a new personal best (PB) and club record time of 49.56 seconds – which puts him top of the UK rankings for 2014.
Another club record went in the semi-finals of the under-20 60m sprint as Kane Wright clocked 7.10 seconds.
That got him through to the final where he finished in a solid fifth place.
Meanwhile, Emily Maltby missed out on a final place in the under-2o ladies’ 60m final after finishing fourth in the semis. She clocked 8.22secs.
