Spalding United are set to field a new goalkeeper in the Lincolnshire Senior Shield tie with Boston United tonight (home, 7.45pm).
Luke McShane (22) was at Peterborough United for five years until February 2007.

He made only one appearance for the first team, a 2-0 FA Cup third round win at MK Dons in January 2005.

The 6ft 1in keeper was called up at the last minute when Mark Tyler suffered a back injury in the warm-up.

McShane was loaned out to Blue Square Premier side Ebbsfleet United, making eight appearances.

He signed for Cambridge United, also in the Blue Square Premier, last July but made only one appearance.

The number one shirt was a problem area for Tulips manager Biley last season. He has already re-signed James Doughty and added ex-Peterborough Northern Star stopper Richard Roberts.

McShane will be among two or three additions to the squad for tonight's first competitive match of the season.

A new central defender could also feature. The Tulips are believed to be interested in Blackstones skipper Richard Jones.

With a number of triallists, the Tulips drew 2-2 at Swineshead on Saturday in their first pre-season match.

New signing Ricky Miller scored the Tulips' goals after the home team had taken the lead early in the second half.

Biley said: "It was a good work-out for us, testing our level of fitness in a competitive encounter."

Midfielder Andy Stanhope played a sweeper role in the absence of the injured Stuart Goosey and did a good job.

Also playing well was 16-year-old Matt O'Neill in a wide right position, while the experience of Mark Angel and Shaun Carey stood out.

Miller started his life in Tulips colours in promising fashion, showing his power in front of goal.

His opener was a pure opportunist effort while his second came from the penalty spot after he had been brought down in the area.

Swineshead equalised in added time.
