Bourne Grammar School came up just short after making it through to the finals of both the under-13 and under-15 sections of the Fred Trueman National School Cricket League.
The under-13 team made 85-7 but were beaten by Sawtry College (86-2).

And the under-15s' score of 70-7 was surpassed by Longsands of St Neots (71-8).

Cricket Society Trust chairman Alan Porter, of Spalding, said: "The standard of cricket was high, with good fielding, bowling and batting.

"Both finals were played in the right spirit. The teams were very keen and enjoyed playing in the lovely setting of Burghley Park."
