DARTS: New Inn's first win is against leaders

BASEMENT side New Inn turned the Division Two table upside down as they toppled league leaders Bull A.

The 5-3 triumph was the first win of the season for the Holbeach St Marks side – but they remain bottom.

Bull A dropped down to second after
New Saracen's Head took full advantage of their slip-up.

They crushed Wildfowler 7-1 to move one point clear, Brett Brothwell throwing a 180.

Elsewhere, Bell saw off BSC 7-1 to move within two points of the top of the table.

Holbeach USC B are the new leaders of Division One after cruising to a 7-1 home win over Riverside.

Previously top Wheatsheaf were held 4-4 by Crown.

Elsewhere, Barry Tice threw a maximum in New Saracen's Head C's win over Parkside.

There were also 180s for Crown's Duncan Hunt and Dawn Wright in their re-arranged 5-3 win over NSH C.

In Division Three, Star remained five points clear at the top after winning 6-2 at Dun Cow.

Second-placed Horse and Groom also won 6-2.

Basement side Robin Hood notched their second win of the season.

Results: Division One – Wheatsheaf 4 Crown 4; NSH C 3 Crown 5; NSH C 6 Parkside 2; Holbeach USC B 7 Riverside 1.

Division Two – Crowland RBL 3 Rose & Crown A 5; Bull A 3 New Inn 5; Bell 7 BSC 1; Wildfowler B 1 NSH A 7.

Division Three – Dun Cow 2 Star 6; Rose & Crown B 3 Robin Hood 5; Horse & Groom 6 Bull 2; Jolly Farmer 1 Ship 7.

Gedney Hill & District League

ROSE and Crown B finally got their first win of the season.

They beat Horse and Groom 15-13, leaving New Saracen's Head A as the only team without a point in Division One.

S Senior held his nerve in the final clash of the game to seal the victory.

At the top, Lamb and Flag are four points clear after seeing off Dun Cow 21-8.

Dave Piccaver threw a 180 for the the table toppers.

In Division Two, New Inn got their first win since the opening day of the season.

Despite taking nine legs from the last three games, Darrin Barrass's solitary leg in the final encounter denied Crown and Mitre an elusive first win.

Meanwhile, Rising Sun closed the gap on leaders Plough to one point. Nigel Fines threw a 180 as they saw off Rose and Crown 14-10.

Elsewhere, heroics from Lisa Merrison secured a draw for Long Sutton RBL at Bell. She won the last game 3-0 against Derek Willson to make it 13-13.

Results: Division One – Rose & Crown B 15 Horse & Groom 13; Holbeach USC 14 Tigers A 14; Tigers A 21 Dun Cow 8; Holbeach USC 17 NSH A 8. Singles qualifier – Kelvin Crane.

Division Two – Rising Sun 14 Rose & Crown 10; Bull B 16 Bull A 14; Bell 13 Long Sutton RBL 13; Long Sutton RBL 14 Rising Sun 19; New Inn 14 Crown & Mitre 13.
