ROYAL Mail Cart made the ideal start to the new season in Group A.

They won by 17 shots at Moulton Harrox for ten points.

Harrox were unlucky to draw a blank on the opening week as Kevin Ekins and A Richardson's sets lost by two shots.

The 13-shot (26-13) win for Paul Simpson, Mick Dolton, Allan Radford and R Allen ensured the aggregate points were going to the visitors.

Mail Cart were the only side to make the perfect start, but Castle A were happy with an 8-2 home win over Consti.

R Digby, M Harsstaff, J Van Gemeren and T Wright nicked Consti's two points with a one-shot win.

The tightest of matches at Billingborough saw Spalding Town make a losing start.

They took two rinks, but missed out on the four extra points largely due to a 15-9 win for J Jones, J Hall, R Yates and S Long.

Spalding Town A picked up eight early points in Group A.

Wins for David Chatham and G Fisher's sets saw off Royal Mail Cart, whose win came from Martin Simpson.

In Group B, Bourne Town missed out on all ten points when R Hill, J Tilley and D Salmon were held 15-15 by Spalding Town B's C Tyler, D Crowder and D Jex.
