Your letters: A warped interpretation of Christmas

So we see Church members coming to the rescue of the Dickensian Christmas fair; an activity that appears to provide no direct seasonal support to the disadvantaged.

But the likes of the Broad Street Methodist Church volunteers giving Christmas cheer to the elderly and Agape who do nothing more than feed the truly needy particularly during the festive season, receive little support.

There does appear to be a warped interpretation of the Christmas spirit by some followers of the Christian faith.

If I’m wrong, would the organisers of the St Nicholas Fayre care to estimate their profit and identify the charities that will receive the proceeds?
