WIND MAST: Letter was confused and misleading

Reference Readers Letters, Lincolnshire Free Press, April 16 (Councillors were spineless).

I would like to correct Mr Grant on the confused and misleading information contained within his letter regarding the Wind Ventures application for a wind measurement mast at West Pinchbeck.

He rightly points out there was indeed great opposition to this application, but I believe he must have attended a different meeting to me and my fellow district councillors who represent Pinchbeck and Surfleet.

Councillor Elizabeth Sneath and I are both members of the South Holland District Council planning committee and took full part in this agenda item.

Councillor Sally Slade is not a member of the planning committee and cannot vote. Coun Slade did, however, speak against the application on behalf of local residents.

Coun Sneath and I both kept an open mind during the debate, but ultimately voted against the application, and our votes have been recorded as such within the minutes. We also attended this meeting in the capacity of district councillors, not parish councillors.

Spineless! Not guilty. Abdication of responsibilities! Again, not guilty. If you’re going to put pen to paper Mr Grant, please check your facts first.
