Why all the journeys to deliver so little grit?

Have your say

As Richard Littlejohn would say: “You couldn’t make it up”.

Lincolnshire County Council used 21 tonnes of grit, with the gritters taking to the road 82 times.

The gritters have a capacity of 26 tonnes each so why were there so many journeys necessary to deliver such a small amount?

Did they take it out a shovel full at a time or were the lorries only capable of taking 0.25 tonnes at any one time? Is this why we need new lorries?
