VILLAGE LIFE: Couple’s support will be sadly missed

Have your say

In these times when there are so many major issues to debate, some events hardly register, even at a local level.

Some 27 years ago, Dave and Sheila Hardy opened a shop in Gosberton Risegate.

Before long, they had taken over the running of the Post Office and for all this time, had been offering a vital service to the village and its surrounding areas.

Much can be said about the loss of vital services in rural places, but at the very least, we would like to express our sincere thanks for the help and support that Dave and Sheila have given to the local community and also, from our experience, their local primary school.

From preparing freshly made packed lunches for its pupils to its rapid response “emergency service” for those children who had forgotten their pack up, the local shop proved invaluable.

Many thanks, Dave and Sheila. Your support will be sadly missed and we hope that your retirement will be a long and happy one. It’s certainly well deserved.
