Twice I’ve had mistakes with Tesco online bills

I did an online grocery shop with Tesco on October 5 and on receiving my shopping I manually added up the totals of each item and discovered that I had been overcharged by 95p.

I complained and was refunded my 95p and sent a £10 e-coupon voucher. I also received a letter from Tesco Customer Service Manager apologising and telling me that they have come across this before, although it is very rare.

I then did another online grocery shop with Tesco on October 22. I again manually added up the totals of each item and again discovered that I had been overcharged, this time by £1.50.

I have today complained and have been told by Sam Relph, Customer Service Manager, that this is something that is happening but the business department do not know why and are collating information to try to find out why.

How many other customers have been overcharged but are unaware of it? You see the total of your shopping and you take their word for it.

On October 5, Tesco announced that they had a 16 per cent increase in net profit for the half year ending August 27. Not a surprise if they are overcharging customers.
